Expand description

What one trial did under the freeze-thaw scheduler.

Fields§

§number: u64

The trial’s per-study number (and its index into the scenario).

§id: TrialId

The trial’s storage id (what the decision log is keyed by).

§label: String

The role label of the curve it ran (from LabeledCurve::label).

§state: TrialState

Its final life-cycle state — Paused for a frozen trial that was never thawed to completion, Complete otherwise.

§value: Option<f64>

The objective value the study ranks it by, if any.

§steps_consumed: u64

The highest step it reported — its resource consumption, the budget a frozen trial shrinks.

§paused_at: Vec<u64>

The steps at which the scheduler paused this trial (empty if never).

§resumed: bool

Whether the scheduler resumed this trial at least once.

§latest_checkpoint_step: Option<u64>

The step of the trial’s most advanced recorded checkpoint reference, if any — proof that a paused trial keeps its checkpoint (atune moves the reference, never the bytes, docs/design/03-architecture.md §5).
