A trial’s fork provenance: the version-1 atune.lineage record.

Written by the study loop when a fork or restart child starts, atomically with the claim that makes it running, and never changed afterwards.

Fields (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive structs could have additional fields added in future. Therefore, non-exhaustive structs cannot be constructed in external crates using the traditional Struct { .. } syntax; cannot be matched against without a wildcard ..; and struct update syntax will not work.

parent: TrialId

The donor trial: the fork’s parent, or the trial a restart copied its configuration from.

fork_step: Option<u64>

The step of the checkpoint the child started from, or None when it started without one (a fresh restart, or a donor that had recorded no checkpoint yet).

restart: Option<Restart>

The restart mode and seed, or None for a plain fork.
