Runtime Errors

Driver or CUDA Compiler Messages

For either error:

[Error] [carb.graphics-vulkan.plugin] VkResult: ERROR_INCOMPATIBLE_DRIVER

XlaRuntimeError: UNIMPLEMENTED: /usr/local/lib/python3.12/site-packages/jax_plugins/xla_cuda12/../../nvidia/cuda_nvcc/bin/ptxas ptxas too old. Falling back to the driver to compile.

ERROR_INCOMPATIBLE_DRIVER indicates a Vulkan driver incompatibility; check the Isaac Sim driver requirements and framework requirements. ptxas too old means XLA is falling back to driver compilation because the CUDA assembler is older than expected. Check the toolkit or ptxas version; the warning alone does not indicate a driver problem.

GLXBadFBConfig Error

If a simulated srb agent workflow crashes with this error, the reported OpenGL version may be incompatible:

There was an error running python

On Mesa, MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE changes the reported OpenGL version. It may help when an application rejects it; it does not change the driver or guarantee a fix:

MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=4.6 srb agent ...

For Docker, select the simulator profile and pass the variable to the container:

SRB_DOCKER_PROFILE=simulator ./.docker/run.bash -e MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=4.6

Slow Startup

The first Isaac Sim launch can take several minutes for shader compilation and asset caching. If later launches remain slow, see this issue.

With a cold cache, a simulated workflow using real terrain may fetch and bake it before launch. Disable auto-fetch to use the procedural fallback instead:

SRB_TERRAIN_AUTO_FETCH=0 srb agent teleop -e _ground

In Docker with a virtual display:

DISPLAY=:99 DOCKER_TTY=false .docker/dev.bash -e SRB_TERRAIN_AUTO_FETCH=0 srb agent teleop -e _ground

The Docker development wrapper defaults to LOG_LEVEL=info; use LOG_LEVEL=debug for verbose logs.

Hidden Isaac Startup Logs

SRB filters known noisy Isaac Sim and PhysX startup logs during srb agent workflows. Disable the filters to inspect raw vendor logs:

SRB_DISABLE_ISAAC_LOG_FILTERS=1 srb agent teleop -e _ground

In Docker with a virtual display:

DISPLAY=:99 DOCKER_TTY=false .docker/dev.bash -e SRB_DISABLE_ISAAC_LOG_FILTERS=1 srb agent teleop -e _ground

Unexpected Behavior

Teleoperation Stuck

When keyboard teleoperation loses window focus, Omniverse may miss a button release and keep moving. Press L to reset the environment.
