Module child
Expand description
The per-trial child’s core: materialize → run oniro → read the objective.
This is the logic of the oniro-trial binary, factored into the
library so the process-spawning glue is one small, reviewed function rather
than inline main. It runs one oniro training per call —
process-per-trial (04-rl-and-oniro.md §B.2: oniro seeds a process-global
RNG) — by shelling out to the oniro_cli binary; it never links oniro.
The executor calls this once per replicate, each under replicate j’s
common-random-numbers seed, which arrives as
ChildInputs::seed and is written into the trial config’s run.seed.
Structs§
- Child
Inputs - Everything the child needs to evaluate one trial replicate.
Functions§
- evaluate_
child - Evaluates one trial replicate and returns its objective value.
- evaluate_
child_ in_ parent_ group - Evaluates one executor-owned child while retaining the executor’s process
group ownership for nested
oniro_cliprocesses. - evaluate_
child_ with_ runtime - Evaluates one trial replicate through a typed runtime.
